1. What will this year's meeting consist of? This year's conference will consist of six sessions:

The conference will also feature three abstract sessions (two for clinical research and one for basic science) and poster viewing. Lectures will be open to questions from the audience. Please click here to see the preliminary conference program.

3. When does the meeting start? Advanced conference registration (conference material pick-up) begins on Wednesday, 4 March 2009, at 4:00 p.m. and goes until 6:00 p.m. Registration then continues on Thursday, 5 March, at 11:00 a.m. and runs until 1:00 p.m., which is when the conference begins. Registration tables will be set up at the entrance area of the conference building.

4. Is there a registration fee? Is there a deadline to register? There are registration fees for the conference which cover all conference materials, lunches, coffee breaks and participation at the Welcome Reception on 5 March 2009. Students who can provide proof of their university status can attend the conference for free, but must first register with the ENETS Office in Berlin.

Please be aware that the registration fee DOES NOT cover travel to and from Granada, nor does it cover lodging for during the conference. For those participants requesting hotel booking and/or airport-hotel-airport shuttle service, please contact enets-annual-confererence@charite.de by no later than Thursday, 15 January 2009. This deadline is non-negotiable.

Your registration - if you are not being sponsored by a pharmaceutical company - is not considered valid until your registration fee payment is received by ENETS. Deadline to make the registration fee payment is Friday, 13 February 2009. Payment details follow:

5. How do I register for the conference? To register online for the conference, please click here. PLEASE NOTE: Delegates may be sponsored by a pharmaceutical firm, in which case, the firm must register you with ENETS for the conference. If you expect to be sponsored, DO NOT register here, so as to avoid double bookings. Please contact your national affiliate for details.

6. Can I book a hotel room through ENETS? Based on availability, ENETS can book a hotel room for individual participants, provided a EUR 150.00 deposit is made to the Society no later than 13 February 2009. The hotel room will be in a hotel contracted through the Society for its conference. To make your payment, please return to the homepage's online payment system. Please indicate that the payment is for a hotel room at the Granada conference.

7. When and where is the Welcome Reception? The Welcome Reception will take place on 5 March 2009, Thursday and begins at 6:15 p.m.

8. Will there be abstract sessions? What about poster prizes?

There will be three abstract sessions during the conference - two for clinical practice and one for basic research. The conference organizers will also collect all abstracts - regardless of the authors' age or level of academic degree - in a booklet to be distributed to all conference attendees.

The conference abstract review committee will select, prior to the conference, eight clinical research abstracts and five basic research abstracts for oral presentation. Authors for these presentations will be contacted by early February.

The best three abstracts for clinical practice and the best three for basic research will be awarded monetary prizes, "Young Investigator Awards", in the amount of € 1,500; € 1,000; and € 500. Prizes will be awarded to investigators under age 40.These prizes will be announced during the conference.

9. Can I get CME credits for the meeting? The European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) received 12 CME (continuing medical education) points for its Prague (2006), Barcelona (2007) and Paris (2008) conferences. The European Union of Medical Specialists, or UEMS, in Brussels, grants these points to medical conferences it deems worthy of medical education value. ENETS will again apply for CME credits and will inform participants in due time of the number of points awarded to this year's Granada meeting.

10. Who can attend the conference? The conference is open to all ENETS members and to physicians and researchers working in a field related to neuroendocrine tumor disease. Please see question 4 on this FAQ page regarding registration fees.

11. Can I bring a guest to the meeting? Accompanying persons are not allowed to attend the conference.
