99mTc Labelled GLP-1 Scintigraphy with Use of [Lys40(Ahx-HYNIC-99mTc/EDDA)NH2]-Exendin-4 in the Diagnosis of Insulinoma

#293

Introduction: GLP-1-receptor scanning offers a new approach for successful localization of small insulinomas or those that are undetectable by other methods.

Aim(s): To present the first successful experiences of our unit with the new tracer - [Lys40(Ahx-HYNIC-99mTc/EDDA)NH2]-Exendin-4.

Materials and methods: GLP-1 receptor scintigraphy was performed in two patients suspected to have insulinomas: 57-year-old woman with severe clinical hypoglycaemias, no lesion in CT and no uptake of the tracer in Somatostatin Receptor Scintigraphy (SRS); and in a 16-year-old man with hiperinsulinemia, small lesions in CT and no uptake of the tracer in SRS.
