A Novel PKCßII Inhibitor Induces Antiproliferative Effects in Human Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Cells

#265

Introduction: Deregulation of the protein kinase C (PKC) signaling pathway has been implicated in tumor progression.

Aim(s): To investigate the antiproliferative and antisecretory effects of a novel PKC inhibitor (PI) in the human pancreatic endocrine cancer cell line, BON1.

Materials and methods: Cell viability was investigated by ATPlite kit, apoptosis by caspase 3/7 assay, GSK3-ß phosphorylation and Chromogranin A (CgA) secretion by ELISA, PKCßII localization by immunofluorescence, CgA expression by Western blot.
