Introduction: Histological diagnostic of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) relies on morphological criteria and expression of several neuroendocrine marker assessed by immunohistochemistry. Systematic large evaluation of classical (chromogranin A (chrA), synaptophysin (Syn), CD56) and emerging (chromogranin B (chrB), INSM1) markers are lacking.

#2267 Large Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Lung: Single-Centre Retrospective Cohort Study
Introduction: Large Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (LCNEC) is a rare lung tumour, diagnosed based on high-grade features, presence of neuroendocrine morphology and immunohistochemical evidence of neuroendocrine markers. LCNEC was grouped with the pulmonary neuroendocrine carcinomas in 2015 WHO classification.

#2257 Poorly Differentiated Neuroendocrine Carcinomas of the Colon: A Clinicopathological Study
Introduction: Neuroendocrine carcinomas (NEC) of the colon and rectum are aggressive and rare tumours. The Digestive Tract WHO classification 2010 defines the entity of large cell NEC (LCNEC) in contrast to small cell NEC (SCNEC).

Introduction: WHO classification from 2003 defines primary neuroendocrine carcinomas (NEC) of the breast as a group of tumors with expression of neuroendocrine markers in more than 50% of tumor cells. In the current WHO classification this category is renamed to “carcinomas with neuroendocrine features” without defined clear-cut of the percentage of tumor cells positive for neuroendocrine markers.

Introduction: To date chemotherapeutic concepts applying cisplatin/etoposide for the treatment of highly aggressive GEP-NEC do not provide convincing results. Thus, there is an urgent need for NEC cell line models that provide a reliable experimental system in identifying novel therapeutic targets.
