#3065 Intensive Personalized Program for Daily Living with Neuroendocrine Neoplasms as a Chronic Disease: Preliminary Results

Introduction: Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are increasingly viewed as chronic diseases as a result of more effective treatments and procedures. As with any life changing events, patient and family transition to a new “normal” requires attitudinal adjustments. The Intensive Personalized Program for Daily Living with Neuroendocrine Neoplasms is a pilot program transitioning patients and their primary familial carer to a new “normal”.

#3054 Nutritional Status and Considerations for Patients Diagnosed with a Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumour: Nutrition in NETs Study

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP NET) can adversely affect nutritional status. Cross-sectional studies report up to 25% of GEP NET patients are malnourished and dietary change may be prevalent. Nevertheless, clinical guidelines lack advice on nutrition management.

#3048 Somatostatin Analogs or Active Surveillance in Sporadic Non-Functioning Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

Introduction: Non-functioning (NF), sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) have usually an indolent behavior, but sometimes show an unpredictable aggressiveness. Surgery is the first-choice for localized tumors >2 cm. Unresectable or metastatic lesions expressing somatostatin receptors (SSTRs) are treated with Somatostatin analogs (SSAs). No evidence of SSAs efficacy exists in tumors ≤2 cm, for which active surveillance has been proposed.

#3041 Resource Use in Patients with Carcinoid Syndrome: A Retrospective Analysis Using the French Health Insurance National (SNDS) Database

Introduction: About 20% of patients (pts) with neuroendocrine tumors (NET) suffer from carcinoid syndrome (CS), mainly from ileum and lung NET. Pts with CS experience symptoms such as diarrhea, flushes and cardiac complications. The diarrhea occurs in almost all pts with CS and can be truly debilitating. Therefore, on top of the tumor, the burden of the symptoms further impairs quality of life and is associated with additional costs related to symptom management and pts follow-up.

#3037 Effects of Debulking Surgery, Transarterial Embolisation (TAE) and Transarterial Chemoembolisation (TACE) on Quality of Life in Patients with Metastatic Ileal and Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs)

Introduction: Debulking surgery, TAE and TACE procedures are undertaken in patients with metastatic NETs. Reducing the physical burden of disease may prolong survival and can improve the quality of life of patients. However, there is only limited quality of life data available after surgery despite the fact that is has been used routinely for many years.
