Clinical Characterization of Patients with Neuroendocrine Neoplasm of the Appendix in Ireland and in Italy: A Retrospective Study from Two Tertiary Institutions
#1747
Introduction: Appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (aNEN) are rare tumors often diagnosed incidentally at appendectomy. Though most aNEN patients have a positive outcome, distant metastases may rarely occur and the identification of the patients at higher risk is required
Aim(s): To retrospectively collect and analyze histological, clinical, biological and follow-up data of aNENs
Materials and methods: All patients with histologically proven aNENs diagnosed at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin and Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico,Milan from 2000 to 2015 were included
