Diagnostic Features and Management Outcomes in Bronchopulmonary Neuroendocrine Tumors: A Clinical Study of 116 Patients

Introduction: Bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors are classified into: typical carcinoids (TC), atypical carcinoids (AC), large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) and small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC).
Aim(s): To assess diagnostic features, management and outcome, focusing on the differences between TC and AC.
Materials and methods: One-hundred and sixteen patients were included using WHO classification with mean follow-up 59.8 months. Disease-free survival(DFS), and progression-free survival (PFS) were evaluated for each therapy.
