#1080
Introduction: -
Aim(s): The aim of this study was to retrospectively analyse the efficacy of gemox and folfox in the treatment of metastatic lung carcinoid tumors.
Materials and methods: 44 patients were included in two tertiary centres between January 1999 and January 2013 in this retrospective study. Typical, atypical carcinoids or not otherwise specified carcinoids were found in 20%, 54%, and 26%. Patients had synchronous (41%) or metachronous (59%) metastasis disease. 79% were progressive before start of chemotherapy. Treatment consisted of: gemcitabine 1000 mg/m² and oxaliplatin 100 mg/m² every 2 weeks (gemox regimen, n=21) or 5-fluorouracil and oxaliplatin 85 mg/m² (folfox regimen, n=21) every 2 weeks.
