Outcomes Following Surgical Management of Pulmonary Carcinoids – A Tertiary Center Experience

Introduction: Pulmonary carcinoids are a rare type of malignant lung tumour. Surgery forms the mainstay of management when operable. However, there is paucity of data on conservative management and effective follow-up strategies.

Aim(s): To determine the outcomes following treatment of pulmonary carcinoid tumours

Materials and methods: Medical records of patients diagnosed with pulmonary carcinoid tumours between Aug 2009 and Aug 2019 in our hospital were retrospectively audited for patient and tumour characteristics, treatment received and outcomes. Frequencies and percentages were calculated and time to events were analysed using Kaplan-Meier method.
