Quality of Life in Neuroendocrine Tumor Patients Compared to the General Population

Introduction: Literature on NET patients' quality of life (QOL) is scarce.

Aim(s): To investigate QOL in NET patients after peptide receptor radionuclide therapy and to compare their scores to the general population, adjusting for age and gender.

Materials and methods: NET patients admitted to the University Clinic for Nuclear Medicine were consecutively included in the study. QOL was assessed with the EORTC Quality of Life Questionnaire Core-30, which is the most widely used cancer-specific QOL instrument. Patients were compared to an Austrian general population sample (N=411) using non-parametric and variance-analytic methods (α-level 5%).
