Sporadic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Young Adult Patients: Natural History, Prognosis and Management

Introduction: Data specific to sporadic neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) in young adult patients (pts) are limited due to its rare occurrence.
Aim(s): Characterize natural history, prognosis and management of NEN in young adult (YA) pts (≤35 yrs old) compared to adult-elderly (AE).
Materials and methods: 204 pts, among which 24 (11.8%) YA and 180 (88.2%) AE, with confirmed sporadic NEN referred to Federico II ENETES CoE of Naples (2010-2019) were included. Clinical-pathological data, treatment, disease-specific survival (DSS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were evaluated.
