#1610 Clinical Significance of Incidental Detection of Appendicular Neuroendocrine Tumours in Sri Lanka
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumours are known to occur in the appendix and mostly detected incidentally following appendicectomies for acute appendicitis. Most of them have a benign behavior and no clinically significant biological activity is found. However, the correct recognition of the pathology is of paramount importance as it may need a separate evaluation and management.

#246 SDHB Loss Predicts Malignancy in Pheochromocytomas/Sympathethic Paragangliomas, but Not Through Hypoxia Signalling
Introduction: To date there is no reliable histopathological marker of malignancy for pheochromocytomas/sympathetic paragangliomas (PCC/PGL). It is well-known that PCC/PGL in the hereditary context of an SDHB germline mutation very often metastasize. The immunohistochemical loss of SDHB expression was recently shown to be a surrogate marker for the presence of an SDH germline mutation in PCC/PGL. SDHB loss is supposed to be tumorigenic via activation of hypoxia signals.

Introduction: We report the case of a 54 year old female with a known MEN1 syndrome with primary Hyperparathyroidism, a Prolactinoma and a pancreatic tumor. The patient complains about episodes of fatigue and sweating, both symptoms improve immediately after a meal.

#1312 Epigenetic Remodeling upon DAXX and ATRX Loss in Pancreatic Neuro-endocrine tumors (pNETs)
Introduction: DAXX and or ATRX loss occur in 40% of sporadic pNETs. DAXX and ATRX participate in the cell epigenetic status maintenance. Epigenetic changes influence gene expression, function of telomeres and genomic stability. We hypothesize that DAXX/ATRX loss drives tumor progression in pNET through epigenetic changes affecting genomic stability.
