#2978 Policy Barriers to Increasing Access to Radioligand Therapy for Neuroendocrine Cancers
Introduction: Radioligand therapy is a relatively new treatment approach used in a small number of neuroendocrine cancers and has been shown to improve overall survival and quality of life. Yet because it uses radioactivity, there are particular barriers to its greater integration into cancer care. As neuroendocrine cancers are rare, it is all the more urgent that these barriers be understood and overcome so that this treatment modality can become available to all patients who may benefit.

Introduction: Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) represents about 3-16% of thyroid cancer. After first line treatment, therapeutic options for locally recurrent or metastasizing tumors include repeated surgery, whenever possible. Doxorubicin containing chemotherapy regimens in iodine-nonavid differentiated thyroid cancer have poor efficacy.

#139 Association of carcinoid with noncarcinoid neoplasms
Introduction: Carcinoid tumors have a complex disease spectrum. Most have a benign clinical course, but some are aggressive, with invasive growth, metastasis and short survival. In carcinoid tumors, more than 20% are associated with noncarcinoid neoplasms. When the second tumor is a more malignant lesion, the prognosis usually is correlated more closely with the noncarcinoid malignant neoplasm.

#1033 Androgens Regulate SMAD Ubiquitination Regulatory Factor-1 Expression and Prostate Cancer Cell Invasion
Introduction: Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed male cancer and is a hormone-driven disease. Androgens have been recognized as a major promoter of PCa development and progression. However, the mechanism of androgen action in PCa, especially in PCa cell invasion remains largely unclear. SMAD ubiquitination regulatory factor-1 (SMURF1) is a C2-WW-HECT-domain E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays important roles in cancer cell metastasis. Whether there is a relationship between androgens and SMURF1 express is not known.
