Introduction: Post-PRRT dosimetry is not routinely performed, partly due to required multiple imaging time points. One time point imaging would reduce patient burden, and make dosimetry more applicable in the clinical settings.

#2712 HORMONET: Study of Tamoxifen in Well Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET) and Hormone Receptor Positive Expression
Introduction: We have shown immunohistochemistry (IHC) expression of estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) in 20.8% and 18.8% of 96 NET patients (pts). An old clinical trial (Mortel C, 1984) suggested antitumor effects of estrogen/progesterone-directed therapies in NET. Yet the effects of an antiestrogen agent in NET pts whose tumor express ER and/or PR are unknown.

#2817 METNET: A Phase II Trial of Metformin in Patients with Well Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Preclinical studies have suggested that metformin has antitumor effects, likely due to blockage of mTOR pathway through AMPK and decreased insulin levels. A retrospective study showed that metformin combined with everolimus to treat related hyperglycemia offered longer progression-free survival (PFS) in patients (pts) with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NET).

#3007 An mRNA-based Classifier Identifies PanNETs with Different Clinicopathological Characteristics
Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms that varies from indolent to highly aggressive diseases. Previous studies have suggested alterations of ATRX/DAXX as biomarkers of dismal prognosis, yet inconclusive data (especially in the metastatic setting) prevent those biomarkers to be used as routine clinical tests.

#357 Alternative Splicing and Differential Gene Expression in Pancreatic NETs
Introduction: Alternative splicing is an important mechanism to increase diversity of the proteome in higher organisms. These protein isoforms can provide as a selective drug target or marker for cancer diagnosis.
We present here a new DNA array that allows identification of splice variation and differential expression of 357 G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) and 11 proteins of the extracellular matrix.

#366 Next Generation Sequencing is a Cost Effective and Time Saving Method in Clinical Genetic Screening of Patients with Pheochromocytomas
Introduction: Pheochromocytomas are rare tumours arising from adrenal medulla. Recent findings show that about 30-40% of pheochromocytomas are caused by germline mutations in one of the ten hereto known susceptibility genes: SDHA, SDHB, SDHC, SDHD, SDHAF2, RET, VHL, NF1, TMEM127 and MAD. This list of genes is constantly growing. These ten genes together consist of 128 exons and a genetic screening test is both extensive time-consuming and expensive. We introduce utilizing Next generation sequencing as a fast and cost effective method.

#429 Bronchial Carcinoid Response to mTOR Inhibitors Depends on mTOR Expression Levels
Introduction: Bronchial carcinoids (BCs), originating from endocrine cells dispersed in the respiratory epithelium, can be divided into typical (TBC) and atypical (ABC). TBC are less aggressive, smaller, and much less likely to metastasize, while ABC are more aggressive and metastasize. mTOR has a central role in regulating cell growth, metabolism, and apoptosis. A differential mTOR activation in BCs has been previously demonstrated, suggesting that mTOR pathway might play a predictive role in patients eligible for mTOR-targeted therapies
