#64 Sustained response to anti IGFR-1R monoclonal antibody combined with docetaxel in a patient with metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma
Introduction: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare neoplasm with poor prognosis. Treatment results in advanced disease are disappointing and median survival is less than 12 months. There is no standard chemotherapy, even though mitotane and cisplatin-based regimens are frequently used with limited efficacy. In vitro data suggest that overexpressed insulin growth factor-2 (IGF-2) acting via the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) is relevant for ACC and that the IGF-1R and 2R pathway is a promising target.

#153 Antibody formation against somatostatin analogues with altered biodistribution and dosimetry: a case with implications for PRRT
Introduction: Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) has emerged as a powerful palliative therapy. I.v. administration of radiolabeled (e.g. Yttrium-90) somatostatin analogues (SA) results in high-dose local irradiation of all tumor sites. The radiolabelled SA accumulates in the tumors through receptor-mediated internalization depending on the expression of somatostatin receptors and the pharmacokinetics of the radiolabelled SA.

#20 Paraneoplastic antigen Ma2 (PNMA2) auto-antibodies as biomarkers for early small intestine neuroendocrine tumors detection
Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) comprise well-differentiated NET (benign carcinoid), well-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (malignant carcinoid) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). The majority of NET patients have developed liver metastases at the time of diagnosis and surgery is then seldom curative. Novel predictive, diagnostic and prognostic markers are thus needed to improve our capabilities to diagnose and cure these tumors. We have previously identified six novel marker genes for neuroendocrine tumor cells by using Affymetrix microarrays and advanced bioinformatics. One of this markers, the paraneoplastic antigen Ma2 (PNMA2), which is normally expressed only in nervous tissue, can in the process of carcinogenesis be detected in tumors located outside the nervous system. The finding that Ma2 is expressed in small intestine neuroendocrine primary tumors and their metastases made it interesting to screen whether antibodies against Ma2 are present in the serum of NET patients.
