#1544 Immunohistochemical Expression of Estrogen and Progesterone Receptors in Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Expression of progesterone (PR) and estrogen receptor (ER) in some neuroendocrine tumors (NET) raises the possibility of hormonal regulation in these tumors, but those prevalence and clinical implication are unknown.

#1256 Characterization and Rescue of a Pathogenic D63N Mutant Human Glucagon Receptor That Causes a Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Syndrome (Mahvash disease)
Introduction: We have previously demonstrated that inactivating glucagon receptor (GCGR) mutations cause a novel hereditary human disease of hyperglucagonemia, pancreatic α cell hyperplasia, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (Mahvash disease). We recently identified a novel missense GCGR mutation, D63N, in a family with Mahvash disease.

#125 Ectopic hormone secreting phaeochromocytoma: A francophone observational study
Introduction: Ectopic hormone-secreting phaeochromocytomas are rare and only small reports of 1-2 cases exist in the literature. In the past, this condition has been linked with increased malignancy, familial syndromes and ACTH secretion.

#629 Targeting Chaperone Activity and Chaperone Expression in Human GEP-NET Cells Can Repress Their Proliferation and Sensitize Them to Chemotherapy
Introduction: New approaches for better treatment of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are acutely needed. Inhibitors of chaperone activity of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) seem to be promising agents but they upregulate cytoprotective chaperones Hsp70 and Hsp27.

#175 The Immunohistochemical (IHC) Expression and Prognostic Value of ER, PR, and HER2/neu in Pancreatic and Small Intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: There has been limited study of ER and PR expression in gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors (GINETs) and data on HER2/neu overexpression in GINETS has been conflicting.

#2126 Histone Replacement in Cancer: Dissecting the Role of H3.3 Chaperones in Pancreatic Tumorigenesis
Introduction: Cancer driver mutations affecting the histone H3.3 chromatin remodellers ATRX and DAXX were recently discovered in 43% of sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PNET). Progressive age-dependent replacement of canonical H3.1/2 with H3.3 is crucial for maintaining genome integrity through expression of repressive markers at heterochromatic sites, where loading is mediated by ATRX and DAXX. Loss of H3.3 chaperones in PNET is associated with activation of ALT, a telomere maintenance mechanism, eventually leading to chromosome instability. It has been suggested that ATRX/DAXX expression is necessary for repressing ALT, but mechanistic details of this interaction are not fully understood.

#20 Paraneoplastic antigen Ma2 (PNMA2) auto-antibodies as biomarkers for early small intestine neuroendocrine tumors detection
Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) comprise well-differentiated NET (benign carcinoid), well-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (malignant carcinoid) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). The majority of NET patients have developed liver metastases at the time of diagnosis and surgery is then seldom curative. Novel predictive, diagnostic and prognostic markers are thus needed to improve our capabilities to diagnose and cure these tumors. We have previously identified six novel marker genes for neuroendocrine tumor cells by using Affymetrix microarrays and advanced bioinformatics. One of this markers, the paraneoplastic antigen Ma2 (PNMA2), which is normally expressed only in nervous tissue, can in the process of carcinogenesis be detected in tumors located outside the nervous system. The finding that Ma2 is expressed in small intestine neuroendocrine primary tumors and their metastases made it interesting to screen whether antibodies against Ma2 are present in the serum of NET patients.

#120 Somatostatin receptors 1-5 expression in a large series of well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors
Introduction: For their antisecretive and antiproliferative effect somatostatin analogs (SA) have been used in the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), based on the expression of somatostatin receptors (sstRs). The potential availability of new SA for the treatment of patients with NETs suggests a better characterization of sstRs.

#193 Paraneoplastic Antigen Ma2 Autoantibodies as Specific Blood Biomarkers for Detection of Early Recurrence of Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) are rare fatal cancers. Many patients develop metastatis before diagnosis. There is no available curative treatment for patients with metastasis.
