Introduction: Pulmonary typical and atypical carcinoids are widely considered indolent, although they can metastasize even with a very long relapse free interval. No standard follow-up strategy exists after a radical resection.

#364 Platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced neuroendocrine carcinomas: an Italian retrospective multicenter analysis
Introduction: Conventional chemotherapy has not yet a well defined role in well/moderately differentiated (WD) neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs).

#513 Correlation Between mTOR Pathway and Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Well-Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumors Treated with Everolimus
Introduction: Everolimus has been studied in preclinical and clinical settings, showing it to be active and effective. Tumors exhibiting the constitutively activated phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase-AKT-mTOR (PI3K/AKT/mTOR) pathway, are potentially susceptible to mTOR inhibitors. Even though Everolimus is both an antiproliferative and anti-angiogenic drug, we do not know the possible prognostic or predictive role of p-mTOR pathway.

#945 Interference of Nutrient/Oxygen Availability with mTOR Activation and Inhibition in Lung Carcinoids: A Tissue and Cellular Study
Introduction: MTOR is capable of coupling cellular nutrient sensing to metabolic homeostasis. However, little is known of the interactions between cancer‐specific metabolic pathways and profiles of responsiveness to mTOR inhibition in neuroendocrine tumors.
