#105 A pilot study using biochemical markers to predict acrcinoid heart disease in patients with carcinoid disease
Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) affects up to 15-70% of patients with carcinoid disease. Recent ENETS guidelines recommend regular echocardiographic assessment to screen for CHD. Chromogranin A (CgA) is a peptide widely used to monitor carcinoid disease progression. Neurokinin A is a tachykinin which may be a more sensitive measure of carcinoid disease progression and prognosis. N-terminal pro Brain Naturetic Peptide is used as a screening tool for heart failure and recent results suggest utility in the diagnosis of CHD.

#2141 Potential Role of SST5TMD4-Derived Peptides in the Malignancy of Neuroendocrine Tumors and Other Endocrine-Related Cancer Cells
Introduction: Extracellular fragments derived from membrane receptors can play relevant functional roles in certain tumoral pathologies and could provide novel diagnostic or therapeutic tools. We have identified a novel truncated somatostatin receptor type 5 variant, sst5TMD4, which is overexpressed and functionally active in different endocrine-related cancers, including neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Interestingly, sst5TMD4 has 4 transmembrane domains and its C-terminal tail is consequently exposed towards the extracellular matrix, and could, therefore, be the substrate for proteolytic enzymes.

#301 Medical and Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) with Somatostatin Analogues (SSA) in Well- and Moderately Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: PRRT is a treatment choice for inoperable or metastasized neuroendocrine tumors and this therapy seems more effective in the biochemical and volume control of disease than SSA alone.

#1801 Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) with a Somatostatin Receptor (SSTR) Antagonist in Patients with SSTR-Positive, Progressive Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs): A Phase I/II Open-Label Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Preliminary Efficacy of 177Lu-O
Introduction: PRRT with radiolabelled SSTR agonists is highly effective and has become an integral part of NET treatment. Tumour uptake and tumour-to-tissue dose ratios may be higher with radiolabelled SSTR antagonists than agonists. DOTA-JR11 (OPS201) is a very promising next-generation SSTR2-selective antagonist.

#731 Gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) Neuroendocrine Tumors, Epidemiology and Clinical Retrospective Study from a Tertiary Care Center in North India
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasm derived from peptide- and amine-producing cells of the neuroendocrine system, characterized by the intracellular presence of markers of endocrine tissue, like chromogranin A, synaptophysin, neuronspecific enolase and having low to medium malignant potential.

#765 Everolimus Treatment in a Series of Patients with Advanced Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Everolimus is an oral mTOR inhibitor that exerts antineoplastic effects inhibiting cell proliferation, survival and angiogenesis. Its activity in advanced neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) has been demonstrated in controlled trials and everolimus was approved by the FDA for the treatment of progressive, advanced pNETs in May 2011.

#2102 Pre-Treatment Tumor Growth Rate (TGR0) in Patients Diagnosed with Well-Differentiated Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs) Treated with Systemic Therapies: Subgroup Analysis of the GREPONET Study
Introduction: TGR0 >4%/month was associated with shorter progression-free survival (PFS) in patients (pts) treated with lanreotide in the CLARINET study. Impact of TGR0 in pts treated with other systemic therapies (ST) and with Ki67>10% is unknown.

#526 Association Between Activin A & NT-pro-BNP in Carcinoid Heart Disease and Intestinal Desmoplasia in Patients with Metastatic Midgut and Pelvic NET
Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) involves cardiac valvular fibrosis and volume overload. N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-pro-BNP) is released by the myocardium in response to increased wall stress in CHD. Activin A is a member of the TGF-ß superfamily involved in fibrogenesis.
