Introduction: Gastrinomas represent a rare group of neuroendocrine tumors usually located in the duodenum or pancreas. They secrete gastrin, which is responsible for the clinical picture of severe acid-related peptic disease and diarrhea, known as the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES). While symptomatic control may be achieved with proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) and somatostatin analogues (SSAs) treatment, little data is known regarding the possible anti-tumor effect of the peptide receptor radioligand therapy (PRRT) in gastrinoma patients.

#634 Merkel Cell Carcinoma in a Nine-Year-Old Girl
Introduction: Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) of the skin is a rare neuroendocrine tumor characterized by its rapid growth and aggressive clinical behavior. MCC is a typical tumor of older age (average age is 65 years). In children and adolescents less than 20 years of age, it is extremely rare. Information regarding MCC in childhood can be found in the literature only in the form of individual case reports. Due to the rarity of MCC in the young population, any clinical studies or treatment recommendations in these patients are missing.

Introduction: Patients with rapidly progressing neuroendocrine tumors presenting with high tumor load and/or severe clinical syndromes are clinically challenging and with limited life expectany. Peptide receptor radiotherapy (PRRT) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) have demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. However, there are no reports that both therapies have been applied in combination.

Owing to their low incidence, evidences of the effectiveness of chemotherapy are scarce. Analogously to small cell lung cancer, platinum plus etoposide (Vp16) regimens are currently the standard treatment in first-line, while little data are available on the role of second-line treatment.
