#2835 Primary Hepatic Neuroendocrine Carcinoma: Case Report and Literature Review
Introduction: Primary hepatic neuroendocrine carcinoma (PHNEC) is an extremely rare neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) that originate from the liver. The diagnosis of PHNEC remains challenging because of its rarity, and its lack of unique clinical features. Available treatment options for PHNEC include surgical resection of the liver tumor(s), radiotherapy, liver transplant, transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), and administration of somatostatin analogues.

#2129 Phosphohistone H3 (PHH3) Immunohistochemical Staining Outperforms Conventional H&E Mitotic Count in Classifying Pulmonary Carcinoids
Introduction: Pulmonary carcinoids (PC) are well-differentiated NETs and are classified as typical carcinoid (TC) and atypical carcinoid (AC). Despite the fact that TC and AC exhibit significant differences in patient survival, their classification depends on relatively subtle differences in mitotic count (MC). Although careful counting of mitotic figures (MF) is essential, it is a very subjective task, time-consuming and lacks of sensitivity and interobserver reproducibility, due to selection bias of the hot spots, heterogeneous distribution of MF, difficulty in distinguishing MF from similar chromatin changes (i.e. in apoptotic cells or due to crush, karyorrhectic debris, pyknosis or apoptosis).

#946 Immunohistochemical Staining of Catecholamine-Synthesizing Enzymes in Head and Neck Paraganglioma Tissue
Introduction: Head and neck paragangliomas (HNPGLs) are non-producing neuroendocrine tumors, alhough 19-28% of patients have an increased dopamine production. The high sensitivity of 18F-DOPA PET also shows that these tumors might be able to synthesize catecholamines.

#2853 Succinate Dehydrogenase B (SDHB) Immunohistochemical Expression in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours and Correlation with Somatostatin Receptor Immunohistochemistry
Introduction: The established category of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) deficient neoplasms includes several endocrine tumours with recent evidence that pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PNETs) could be included in this tumour group. The SDH complex is composed of four subunits (A-D) but loss of immunohistochemical (IHC) expression for SDHB indicates bi-allelic inactivation of any SDH component and is used as a marker for syndromic disease.
