#1217 The Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) Patient (pt) Perspective: Results from the First Global NET Pt Survey - A Collaboration Between the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA) and Novartis Pharmaceuticals
Introduction: Despite a rising incidence of NETs, few studies document the NET pt experience. We present data on quality of life (QoL) and the global NET pt perspective.

#88 EpCam expression and detection of circulating tumor cells in neuroendocrine tumors
Introduction: Using the CellSearchTM system, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) can be reproducibly enumerated according to expression of EpCAM and cytokeratins 8, 18 or 19 and the absence of the haemopoietic marker CD45. The number of CTCs detected in 7.5 mls blood has been shown to correlate with prognosis in breast, colon and prostate cancer and can predict response to therapy. Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) have not previously been reported to express EpCAM and have not been systematically assessed for presence of CTCs. We have therefore explored the expression of EpCAM in NETs and the detection of NET cells in the circulation.

#143 Association of somatostatin receptor 2 immunohistochemical expression with [111In]-DTPA octreotide scintigraphy and [68Ga]-DOTATOC PET/CT in neuroendocrine tumors
Introduction: In the absence of preoperative somatostatin receptor (sst) scans, knowledge of immunohistochemical sst2 tumor expression may help in predicting the success of somatostatin analogue-based follow-up studies and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).

#1361 Evaluation of the Therapeutic Approaches Impacting on the Survival of Patients with an Advanced Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor
Introduction: The therapeutic approaches in metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) are currently used as a palliative strategy to control symptoms and potentially improving patient survival.

#1449 Promoting High Quality Care in Clinical Trials for Patients with Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs)
Introduction: The European Institute of Oncology is an ENETS Center of Excellence. Many patients (pts) are treated in clinical trials. The clinical research nurse (CRN) is a key figure in care delivery. Optimising staff resources means some trial activities are delivered by nursing staff with limited research experience. To provide high quality care & accurate trial results, all nursing staff caring for NET pts should have appropriate trial related support and training.

#1674 Meta-Analysis of Recurrence after Curative Surgery of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors.
Introduction: Follow-up after curative surgery for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) is designed to detect recurrence, however reliable recurrence rates are difficult to deduct from literature. Without this knowledge, appropriate follow-up regimens and indications for adjuvant treatment remain unclear.

#1749 Changes in the Frequency and Epidemiology of the Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors, Diagnosed in the University Hospital of Pleven, Bulgaria from the Period 2010 to November 2016
Introduction: During the recent years there has been an observed tendency of increased frequency of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) all around the world due to the clinicians' improved knowledge about the diagnostic and treatment of these tumors. We have discovered a correlation between world tendency and the local tendency we have observed in the University Hospital of Pleven, Bulgaria from 2010 to November 2016.

#2179 Exploring Nutrition Screening and Management Practices amongst Health Professionals Managing Patients with Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Patient’s with neuroendocrine tumours (NET) are at nutritional risk due to symptoms and side-effects of treatment. Current evidence based guidelines lack information regarding optimal nutritional management and supportive care.
