#200 Genome-Wide MicroRNA Expression in Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors (“Midgut carcinoids”): Upregulation of miRNA-182, miRNA-183 and Downregulation of miRNA-215
Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRs) may regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and function as tumor suppressors or oncogenes. MiR expression is not characterized in neuroendocrine midgut carcinoids.

#355 MicroRNA Signatures as Novel Biomarkers in Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Small intestine (SI) neuroendocrine tumors (NET) arise from serotonin-producing intraepithelial cells in the SI referred to as enterochromafin cells. The detection of SI-NETs is often concomitant with the appearance of hepatic metastasis thus most patients with SI-NET have metastases at initial presentation. MicroRNAs (miRs) are post-transcriptional key regulators in tumorigenesis which regulate expression of other genes. Little evidence of miR expression or deregulation in SI-NETs has been reported.

#585 Global microRNA profiling of small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) and establishment of a method to study serum microRNA expression from the same tumors
Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are important post-transcriptional regulatorsin biological processes and function either as tumor suppressors or oncogenes.

#2906 Change of Lactate Transporter (MCT4) Expression in Pancreatic Microadenomas and Stages of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Metabolic changes are observed in early and late stages of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (PanNET) in mouse models. In human PanNET, RNA-expression analysis showed changes in glucose metabolism in more aggressive PanNET.

#174 Loss of Expression of the DNA Mismatch Repair Proteins MLH1 and MSH2 is Rare in Pancreatic and Small Intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Loss of expression of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) proteins MLH1 and MSH2, which is known to correlate strongly with MSI, has not been well studied in pancreatic or small intestinal NETs.

#167 Localization of Sporadic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Gene expression Analysis of Their Metastases
Introduction: Primary neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare and often difficult to detect, leading to diagnosis late in their development. Cases in which the primary cannot be located are denoted as CUP-Syndrome.

#700 Comparative Expression Analysis of Chromosome 18 Related miRNAs in Ileal NET with and without Chr18 Loss
Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRs) play important roles in many kinds of biological processes. Because the (partial) loss of one chromosome 18 (Chr18) is a frequent event in ileal NETs (iNETs), we assessed the potential deregulation of miR-expression in these patients.

#807 MicroRNA Expression in Serum of Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumor Patients and miR-196a Biological Function in Neuroendocrine Tumor Cells
Introduction: We have previously identified five upregulated and four downregulated miRNAs in small intestinal neuroendocrine tumor (SI-NET) tissue. We extended our analysis to serum samples of SI-NET patients to depict miRNAs functions.

#1829 Genome-Wide Analysis of Long Non-Coding RNAs in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Microarray
