#312 Evidence for the role of miR196a in regulating small intestinal neuroendocrine tumor proliferation and metastasis via HOX/AKT pathway activation
Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis functioning as tumor suppressor genes but their role in NET proliferation and metastasis has not been fully evaluated.

#304 Hepatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Metastasis Proliferation is Hepatocyte Regulated Via a 5HT7 Mediated Induction of an IGF 1 and HGF Feedback Loop Mediated by cAMP, PKA-independent pAKT and pCREB
Introduction: Carcinoid serotonin (5-HT) causes local fibrosis but the effect of 5-HT on hepatocytes has not been established. We hypothesized that tumors and hepatocytes form a metastasis-supportive environment.

#366 Next Generation Sequencing is a Cost Effective and Time Saving Method in Clinical Genetic Screening of Patients with Pheochromocytomas
Introduction: Pheochromocytomas are rare tumours arising from adrenal medulla. Recent findings show that about 30-40% of pheochromocytomas are caused by germline mutations in one of the ten hereto known susceptibility genes: SDHA, SDHB, SDHC, SDHD, SDHAF2, RET, VHL, NF1, TMEM127 and MAD. This list of genes is constantly growing. These ten genes together consist of 128 exons and a genetic screening test is both extensive time-consuming and expensive. We introduce utilizing Next generation sequencing as a fast and cost effective method.

#1633 The Preoperative Blood Lymphocyte-To-Monocyte Ratio Acts As a Superior Prognostic Factor and Predicts Tumor Metastasis in Gastric Neuroendocrine Neoplasms after Surgery
Introduction: A low lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) has been reported to be a predictor of poor survival in patients with various cancers but has not been examined in patients with gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (g-NENs).

#138 The use of F-18-FDG-PET for patients with neuroendocrine tumors
Introduction: Neoplastic tissue exhibits high glucose utilization, which can be imaged by 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET). Whether FDG-PET is useful for neuroendocrine (NE) tumors, however, is questionable, due to the slow growth rate often observed in these tumors.

#267 Plasma Somatostatin: Gastrin Ratio Improves the Diagnosis of Gastrinoma
Introduction: Fasting gastrin alone is inadequate for diagnosis of gastrinoma. Diagnosis requires confirmation of low gastric pH. Low gastric pH is associated with increased numbers of D (somatostatin) cells.

#2008 Preliminary Evaluation of Influence of Different Targeted Drugs of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Signaling Pathway on the Proliferation of Neuroendocrine Neoplasm Cell Lines
Introduction: Sunitinib and bevacizumab are intracellular and extracellular inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) pathway respectively, the influence of both of which on the proliferation of neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) cell lines in vitro was not known yet.

#401 Status of DNA Repair and Cell Proliferation Markers in High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Uterine Cervix (cNEC) Compared to Small Cell Carcinoma of the Lung (SCLC)
Introduction: Most patients (pts) with cNEC are treated with chemotherapy regimens used for SCLC due to both tumors’ histological similarity and aggressive behavior.

#2048 The Correlation between 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT Results and Tumor Proliferation in Patients with Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (GEP-NENs)
Introduction: GEP-NENs are heterogeneous neoplasms characterized by overexpression of somatostatin receptors (SSTRs). PET/CT with 68Ga-DOTATATE has shown excellent results for imaging of NENs and has been used more and more widely.

#126 Assessment of the proliferation marker Ki-67 by endoscopic ultrasound guided-Fine Needle Aspiration (EUS-FNA) in pancreatic endocrine tumors: A comparative analysis with histology of the surgical specimen
Introduction: Assessment of the proliferative index by Ki-67 immuno-labelling is an important prognostic parameter for the biologic behavior of digestive neuroendocrine tumors, usually established on the histological specimen obtained after surgery or macro-biopsy. However, small pancreatic endocrine tumors (PET) are more and more often recognized by CT/MRI and diagnosed by EUS. The value of Ki-67 labelling index (Ki-67-LI) on fine needle aspiration (FNA) is not well-established in this setting, although regularly assessed.
