#158 Progression-free survival (PFS) as a primary endpoint for clinical studies in advanced neuroendocrine tumors (NETs)
Introduction: Successfully testing new antitumor agents requires primary study endpoints that are clinically important, and also provide sufficient statistical power within a timeframe and population size that is feasible for the tumor type. Using overall survival (OS) as the primary endpoint in NET studies is challenging because of the low incidence (5.25/100,000 annually), disease heterogeneity, extended survival time (Yao 2008), and confounding effects of multiple therapies. These inherent aspects of NETs make OS an extremely difficult and challenging endpoint to evaluate clinical efficacy.

#883 Primary Hepatic Neuroendocrine Tumors: Four Familial Case Series with Review of Literature
Introduction: Non-multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) familial neuroendocrine tumors (NET) are very rare with only six families being described to date. Primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumors (PHNETs) are rare tumors with a particular sporadic diagnosis. Herein, we report a series of four members of one Lebanese family, diagnosed with primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumors.

#2075 Phase 1 Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Study of APOC, a New Controlled Release Formulation (CRF) of 15mg Octreotide Acetate in Healthy Male Volunteers
Introduction: Somatostatin analogues (SSAs) are considered the gold standard for systemic therapy of advanced neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Octreotide is one of the SSAs most widely used in long-term therapies of NETs. There is increasing evidence that clinical benefits could be obtained with higher SSAs circulating levels but remain unreachable with current products without impacting significantly the quality of life of the patients. APOC is a new injectable controlled release technology containing Octreotide invented and developed by Ascil-Biopharm and designed to cover specifically these clinical unmet needs. It is presented as ready-to-use and can easily be manufactured at selected doses and durations in prefilled syringe.

Introduction: Telotristat ethyl (TE) is a treatment for carcinoid syndrome (CS) diarrhea used in combination with somatostatin analog (SSA) therapy. In the Phase 3, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind TELESTAR and TELECAST studies, CS patients received TE at 250 mg 3 times per day (tid), 500 mg tid, or placebo tid in addition to SSAs.

Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) is a complication of metastatic neuroendocrine tumors and is screened for using echocardiography. Published case series showed that when cardiological evaluation is done at least 50% of the patients have CHD, and 33% had surgical indication.
