#3030 Targeting CXCR4 and Thioredoxin Reductase in Theranostics of Atypical Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Carcinoma
Introduction: Atypical carcinoid and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) are currently incurable. There is thus a critical need for new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for lung neuroendocrine neoplasms (LNEN). Chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4), a G protein coupled receptor and theranostic target, plays a crucial role in metastases of LNEN. We hypothesize combination of thioredoxin reductase (TR) inhibitor represents a metabolic strategy to enhance cytotoxicity in peptide-receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) of LNEN.

#3320 TGF-β increase caspase activation and migration in typical bronchial carcinoids
Introduction: Typical bronchial carcinoids (TBC) are well-differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) whose management can still be very challenging due to reduced sensitivity to therapy. Previous studies have reported TGF-β’s ability to activate mTOR pathway and induce epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). Moreover, preliminary results show an overexpression of TGF-β signalling and caspase activation in TBC.

It is a heterogeneous group that meets morphological criteria; immunohistochemical and molecular; defining 4 groups: Typical and atypical carcinoid tumors, neuroendocrine carcinomas with large cell and small cells. Carcinoid syndrome is rare in these tumors and the treatment is based on surgery for localized forms and multimodal treatment for metastatic forms.
