#78 The diagnostic and prognostic value of elevated proGRP levels in well- and moderately differentiated neuroendocrine tumors
Introduction: Chromogranin A (CgA) is the most frequently used marker in well- (grade 1) and moderately (grade 2) differentiated NETs. Although CgA is a more sensitive marker than the 5-HIAA, which was widely used until the last decade, CgA has some limitations. False-positively elevated CgA may occur in renal impairment, atrophic gastritis and during treatment of proton-pump inhibitors. Progastrin-releasing peptide (proGRP) was recently reported as a promising tumor marker for small cell lung cancer. Limited data suggests that ProGRP may be a potential tumor marker in NE tumors.

#2248 High Grade (G3) Gastro-Entero-Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms: Should the New WHO Classification Apply to All?
Introduction: Grade 3 (G3) neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN), arising from the gastro-entero-pancreatic system (GEP), are classified according to WHO 2010 and defined as having a Ki67 of > 20%. However this groups together G3 well differentiated neuroendocrine tumours (WD-NET) with poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (PD-NEC). Recently, WHO have proposed a new classification for pancreatic NEN, with sub-division into G3 WD-NET and G3 PD-NEC

Introduction: In phase 3 CLARINET study, LAN 120mg every 28 days significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) vs placebo in pts with well-differentiated metastatic enteropancreatic NETs, but limited data exist for somatostatin analogues in advanced lung/thymic NETs. Evidence that TMZ may be active in thoracic NETs is mainly retrospective.
