Added Prognostic Value of Molecular Imaging Biomarkers over Proliferation Index in Typical Lung Carcinoid: An FDG PET and SSTR Imaging Study

#3011

Introduction: Typical lung carcinoids(TCs)are rare tumors with good, although heterogeneous, prognosis.

Aim(s): To evaluate the prognostic meaning of FDG PET and somatostatin receptor(SSTR)imaging biomarkers,in patients with TCs,and their relationship with Ki67.

Materials and methods: We reviewed 68patients with histological diagnosis of lungTCs,with Ki67 measured,FDG PET and/or SSTR SPECT with 111In-pentetreotide at staging and follow-up of at least 1 year,to determine overall survival(OS).We measured SSTR density(SSTRd),lesion-to-liver ratio(SUVratio),MTV and TLG of primary tumor(SUV41%threshold).Parameters prognostic capability was assessed using ROC,discriminant and Kaplan-Meier analyses.
