Clinical Features and Quality of Life in Patients with Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors from Chile

#2808

Introduction: Clinical features of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (GEP-NETs) and their repercussions on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) have not been widely studied in Hispanic populations.

Aim(s): We evaluated clinical features and HRQoL in a group of Chilean patients with newly diagnosed GEP-NETs.

Materials and methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study, identifying 18 adult patients diagnosed with GEP NETs between 2017-2019, approximately 10% of the estimated annual national incidence. These patients were evaluated for GEP-NETs symptoms. HRQoL was evaluated using QLQ-c30 and QLQ-GINET21 surveys. We used Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to compare the difference between median EORTC QLQ-c30 summary score and median global health status/QoL score.
