Correlation of Ki-67 proliferative index with pathological features and outcome in pancreatic endocrine tumors

#132

Introduction: Information on relationships between Ki-67 values and clinicopathological features in pancreatic endocrine tumors (PETs) is scant and comes mostly from a small series.

Aim(s): To correlate Ki-67 proliferative index with pathological features and outcome in a prospective series of PETs, to better evaluate its prognostic role.

Materials and methods: Newly-diagnosed, histologically proven, sporadic PETs observed from June 2004 to March 2007 in 24 Italian centers were included in a specific dataset. Histological details and clinical data were recorded at recruitment. After inclusion, each case was followed-up for a minimum of two years.
