Diagnostic Accuracy of 68Gallium Positron Emission Tomography (68Ga PET), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Computed Tomography in the Assessment of Lymphnode Metastases by Nonfunctioning Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

#3022

Introduction: The presence of nodal metastasis is one of the most important predictive factors for recurrence after radical surgery for nonfunctioning Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NF-PanNEN). Nevertheless, it is not clear which is the best diagnostic examination to identify preoperatively lymphnodal metastasis.

Aim(s): To determine the accuracy of preoperative staging in detecting nodal metastases in patients affected by sporadic NF-PanNEN

Materials and methods: Patients undergoing radical surgery for sporadic NF-PanNEN were prospectively enrolled in the DETECTYON trial (NCT03918759). Sensitivity and specificity of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) scan, 68Gallium-PET and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) in predicting presence of lymphnodal metastases were analyzed.
