Early Prognostic Factors in Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma

Introduction: Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) prognosis has been related with several variables, being calcitonin doubling time one of the most important prognostic factor. However, it is not evaluable in the early postoperative period.

Aim(s): The aim of this study was to analyze early postoperative variables related with disease-specific mortality (DSM) due to MTC.

Materials and methods: Retrospective review of surgically removed MTC from 1996 to 2015. We performed a univariate analysis of factors related to DSM.
