From hormone dependent solid breast carcinoma to primary neuroendocrine carcinoma: a case report

#103

Introduction: Primary neuroendocrine carcinoma of the breast is an extremely rare tumor with incidence of 0.27-0.5%.

Aim(s): To exclude possible neuroendocrine tumor in a 55-year-old female patient with disseminated malignant disease, six years after radical mastectomy due to small ER/PR positive ductal breast carcinoma without invaded lymph glands.

Materials and methods: We performed all the diagnostic procedures in the evaluation of the possible neuroendocrine tumor of the gastrointestinal tract with determination of the specific biochemical neuroendocrine markers and performed a revision of the primary histopathological analysis.
