Integrative Genomic Characterization Identifies Molecular Subtypes of Lung Carcinoids Abstract #2745

Introduction: Lung carcinoids (LCs) are rare and slow growing primary lung neuroendocrine tumors. The WHO classify LCs into atypical and typical carcinoids. Recent studies have shown that the reproducibility of LCs classification and its prognostic efficacy have high interobserver variability
Aim(s): The aim of this study was to investigate oncogenesis pathways, clinically relevant distinct molecular subtypes of LCs and biomarkers discovery
Materials and methods: We performed targeted exome (MSK-IMPACT) sequencing using a 354-cancer gene panel(n=29), mRNA sequencing(n=30), DNA methylation array(n=18) and Immunohistochemistry(n=20) on macro-dissected lung carcinoids. To validate the molecular subtypes of LCs, we used an independent genomic dataset of LCs that includes exome sequencing(n=70) and gene expression(n=65). In addition, a tissue microarray containing 173 independent cases of LCs was used to study clinical correlates.

#2795 Molecular Correlation of the Activity of Evofosfamide (EVO) in Combination with Sunitinib (SUN) in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (pNETs) in the SUNEVO GETNE Trial
Introduction: MEN1, DAXX, ATRX, and PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway genes are frequently mutated in pNETs. Sunitinib is approved and widely used in the metastatic setting but unfortunately, no validated predictive biomarker has been identified to guide therapy yet. The SUNEVO phase II trial of the Spanish Task Force Group for Neuroendocrine and Endocrine Tumours (GETNE) trial combined the pro-drug of EVO under SUN-induced hypoxic conditions.
