Long-term Survival and Quality of Life in Patients with Ileum NET: A Single Center Experience

#326

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors of the small bowel can be differentiated in terms of progression, survival time and health-related quality of life from endothelial tumors.

Aim(s): To evaluate the long-term results of surgical therapy on life quality and survival in patients with ileum NET.

Materials and methods: Patients (16) with 17 operations in ileum NETs were included in a prospective database between 1994 and 2010. WHO and TNM classification were applied, and documentation was followed-up until death or December 2010. The Karnofsky-index was used to show the health-related quality of life for the patients at the timepoint of evaluation (12/2010).
