Multiple tumors in patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours: morphological and immunohistochemical characteristics
#61
Introduction: Pancreatic islet cell tumors occur in 80% of patients with MEN 1. Tumors are often multicentric. They often produce multiple peptides and biogenic amines.
Aim(s): Improve immunophenotyping of multiple pancreatic neuroendocrne tumors.
Materials and methods: Immunophenotyping of the removed pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNET) of 268 patients aged from 9 to 80 years old was carried out. MEN 1 syndrome was determined in 29 patients (10,8%). The neuroendocrine markers (chromogranin A, synaptophysin, CD56) and the hormones insulin, proinsulin, glucagon, somatostatin, gastrin, pancreatic polypeptide, serotonin, ACTH were used.
