Neuroendocrine Neoplasms Arising in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Clinical Features of 69 Cases and Literature Review

Introduction: An increased prevalence of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) has been reported in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, we know little about IBD complicating NENs.

Aim(s): To investigate the clinical characteristics and pathogenesis of IBD complicating NENs.

Materials and methods: Sixty-nine cases of IBD complicating NENs in Pubmed and Cochrane Library from 1966 to 2018 were consulted and summarized and relevant literature were reviewed.
