Guido Rindi acquired his MD in 1982 and became specialist in Human Pathology in 1986 at the University of Pavia (I). He obtained his PhD in 1991 at the University of London (UK) and then spent two years as Fogarty Fellow at Tufts University – New England Medical Center, Boston, USA. He was Chair of Pathology in 2001 at the University of Parma (I). In 2009 he moved to the Università Cattolica – Policlinico A. Gemelli in Roma (I) and was head of the Institute of Pathology and Chief of the Histopathology Service. He was co-founder of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS), his research focuses on neuroendocrine cells and neuroendocrine pathology embracing mouse tumor modelling, human cancer genetics and relevant clinical-pathological aspects including grading and staging. He will be chairing "Session 1: Towards Understanding NET" on Thursday, 8 March 2018 from 08:40-09:55.
Dr. Raj Srirajaskanthan is a Consultant in Gastroenterology & Neuroendocrine Tumors at Kings College Hospital, London, UK. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London, since 2014. He trained at Guys and St’ Thomas’ Medical school. His MD (Res) was at UCL studying Biomarkers in neuroendocrine tumors. He has been involved in NET research since 2006. He has presented in several national and international conferences and published many original papers and review articles. He is a member of the UKINETS research committee and clinical practice group. In addition, he is the London representative for the Hepatobiliary Clinical reference group. He will take over the talk from Prof. O'Toole during the Postgraduate Course on Wednesday, 7 March 2018 covering "Endoscopy and EUS: The Role in Gastric, Duodenal, Pancreatic and Rectal NETs" from 09:50 - 10:10.
Associate Professor in Pathology, University of Turin. Director of the Pathology Unit at “San Luigi Hospital”, Orbassano, Turin, Italy. PhD program in Human Oncology, University of Turin, 1997 – 1998, research fellow at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, July – December 1999. >100 lectures at national and international meetings and courses. Editorial Board member of “Pathology Research International”, “Analytical and Quantitative Cytopathology and Histopathology” and “Endocrine Pathology”. >200 publications (Hc index: 43), 11 book chapters. He will hold the talk "The Pathology Perspective" during Session 6, Whats new in the Field? on Friday, 9 March 2018 from 08:30 - 08:50.
David Wyld is the Director of Medical Oncology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane, Australia, an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at The University of Queensland, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology. He has a strong clinical interest in gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine tumors and clinical trials, a specific research interest in neuroendocrine tumors and qualitative patient focused research, and an ongoing involvement in education and training. He will give his views from the Asian-Pacific perspective during Session 2: Epidemiology – ENETS Meets East and West on Thursday, 8 March 2018 from 10:40 - 10:55.
Reza Kianmanesh is full professor in digestive and oncological surgery (Paris 7 University), he is, since 2011, Chief of the department of general, digestive and endocrine surgery in R. Debré University Hospital, in Reims, France. In addition to serving as member of the ENETS Executive Committee, he is has been active within ENETS in Advisory Board. Furthermore, he is first author in the 2010 published “ENETS Consensus Guidelines for the Management of Peritoneal Carcinomatosis from Neuroendocrine Tumors”. Prof. Kianmanesh specializes in HPB surgery, LT, peritoneal carcinomatosis cytoreductive surgery and multidisciplinary treatment of digestive NETs, which represent his preference domains of competence. He will hold the talk, entitled "What Extent of Lymphadenectomy for SINETs?" during Session 5B: Surgery Techniques on Thursday, 8 March 2018 from 16:45 - 17:00.
Dr. Niederle is Professor of Surgery, current chief of the Department of Surgery, Franziskus Spital, Vienna and was former Chief of the Section “Endocrine Surgery”, Medical University of Vienna. After studying at the Medical University of Vienna he completed his surgical training in 1989 and was then Senior Resident in the Department of Surgery till 2016. In 2001 he became Professor of Endocrine Surgery. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS – EndocrineSurgery), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons [FRCS-England] and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons [FACS]. He was founding member and president (2012-2014) of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons. He is member of the ENETS Advisory Board. He will be chairing the Session 5B: Surgery Techniques on Thursday, 8 March 2018 from 16:10 - 17:10.
The ENETS E-Learning NET CME courses are now online. ENETS is excited to announce that members can participate and earn CME credits for three accredited webinars. Beginning from the first Postgraduate Course in 2017 and including the Guidelines established in 2012 with an update in 2016, the webinars will cover the areas from PANNET to Management of of jejuno-ileal and appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) and metastases from NENs and management of gastroduodenal and colorectal neuroendocrine neoplasms.
