Novel Insights in Octreotide Effects on Human Neuroendocrine Cell Line CNDT2.5

#198

Introduction: Octreotide, the first synthetic somatostatin analog available for clinical use, efficiently binds somatostatin receptors (SSRs) 2 and 5 and may transduce its effects by using SSRs.

Aim(s): To elucidate molecular mechanisms of action of Octreotide in human neuroendocrine cell line CNDT2.5 by gene profiling.

Materials and methods: Gene profiling for CNDT2.5 cells was performed using Affymetrix microarrays. Q-RT-PCR and Western blots validated microarray results. Q-RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to evaluate gene and protein expressions in neuroendocrine midgut primary tumor and metastasis tissues.
