Pancreatic Endocrine Tumors: TNM staging and WHO Grading Relation with Prognosis

#338

Introduction: Pancreatic endocrine tumors (PETs) are heterogeneous, rare neoplasms (large experience is unlikely). Prognostic stratification based on TNM staging and WHO grading is still under debate.

Aim(s): Description of authors’ center experience with PETs, focusing on characteristics associated with prognosis (WHO classification, ENETS TNM staging).

Materials and methods: Consecutive patients (n=28) with PET who were admitted to our institution between 2003 and 2010 were identified and their data reviewed. Gender, age at diagnosis, hormonal secretion, WHO classification (WHOclass), ENETS TNM stage (st), treatment and mortality were some of the evaluated parameters.
