Screening of Differentially Expressed Genes in Gastric Neuroendocrine Neoplasms Based on Human Transcriptome Array Abstract #2031

Introduction: Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (g-NENs) are a heterogeneous group of tumors.
Aim(s): We tried to explore its underlying pathogenesis based on transcriptome array.
Materials and methods: We utilized Human Transcriptome Array 2.0 to screen the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in g-NENs by using three g-NEN tissues and adjacent normal gastric tissues. The gene ontology (GO) analysis, including biological process, molecular function and cellular component analysis, was performed to uncover the biological functions of DEGs. The kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis was used to find out the related signal pathways.

#357 Alternative Splicing and Differential Gene Expression in Pancreatic NETs
Introduction: Alternative splicing is an important mechanism to increase diversity of the proteome in higher organisms. These protein isoforms can provide as a selective drug target or marker for cancer diagnosis.
We present here a new DNA array that allows identification of splice variation and differential expression of 357 G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) and 11 proteins of the extracellular matrix.

#360 High Resolution (Epi)genomic Analysis Comparing Pulmonary Carcinoids with a Favorable and a Poor Disease Outcome
Introduction: Lung carcinoids are a heterogenous group of neuroendocrine tumors. MEN1 mutations and 11q22-q25 deletions have been implied in their tumorigenesis. Very few genome wide and methylation studies have been conducted to further elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis.

#462 Genome-Wide Expression Profiling Reveals Downregulation of OTP and CD44 and Upregulation of RET as Indicators of Poor Prognosis in Lung Carcinoids
Introduction: Lung carcinoids comprise a heterogeneous group of neuroendocrine tumors. Only few parameters have been identified that correlated with poor disease outcome, including 11q22-q25 deletions. New biomarkers are required to further improve diagnosis and prediction of prognosis.

#529 Alternative Splicing and Differential Gene Expression in Pancreatic NETs
Introduction: Protein isoforms resulting from differentially spliced mRNA may constitute peculiar drug targets or markers for cancer diagnosis. We here present a new DNA array that allows identification of splice variation and differential expression for 357 G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) and 11 proteins of the extracellular matrix.

#424 Role of MicroRNAs in Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors
Introduction: Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) arise from enterochromaffin cells, which belong to the endocrine system. MicroRNAs (miRs) are post-transcriptional regulators. They control multiple biological processes often functioning either as tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes.
