Shear Wave Elastography Imaging in Neuroendocrine Liver Metastases: Preliminary Data from a Single Center

#1686

Introduction: Ultrasound shear wave elastography (SWE) imaging has recently been developed as non-invasive method for quantitative assessment of liver stiffness.

Aim(s): Present series was aimed at evaluating the stiffness of neuroendocrine liver metastases by SWE during an ultrasound examination.

Materials and methods: From 2014 to 2016 all consecutive patients attending our Gastroenterology Unit for a metastatic neuroendocrine tumor underwent ten consecutive SWE measurements (ElastPQ ultrasound shear wave elastography) for both the major liver metastasis and the surrounding hepatic parenchyma.
