Treatment Outcomes of Patients with Mixed Neuroendocrine Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (MiNEN) Abstract #2250

Introduction: Mixed neuroendocrine non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNEN) have been newly defined in the WHO 2017 classification. They are rare tumors, commonly treated in analogy to their non-neuroendocrine (nNE) or neuroendocrine (NE) component without systematic data regarding the optimal therapeutic strategy.
Aim(s): To analyze the treatment outcomes of MiNEN patients.
Materials and methods: Retrospective analysis of all patients with MiNEN at our center between 10/2001 and 11/2017.

#622 Evaluation of Mucin and Neuroendocrine Expression in Diffuse Gastric Cancer with Signet Ring Cell Morphology
Introduction: A proportion of diffuse gastric carcinoma, according to the Lauren classification system, has signet ring cell morphology. Signet ring cells are characterized by a peripherally placed nucleus and a central amorphous substance, which is reported to be mucin based on Periodic Acid Schiff positivity (PAS). PAS is not a specific staining method for mucin. Neuroendocrine expression has previously been reported in tumor cells in diffuse type gastric cancer.

#685 A Small Mixed Adenocarcinoma and Neuroendocrine Tumor of the Duodenum with Multiple Liver Metastases
Introduction: Mixed adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine cancers (MANECs) are rare specific type of tumors that are composed of two histologic components: a neuroendocrine carcinoma and an adenocarcinoma. There are only a few reports regarding MANEC of the stomach, colon and rectum in the literature.

#867 Mixed Adenoneuroendocrine Carcinoma (MANECs): A Rare and Challenging Subgroup of Neuroendocrine Neoplasia
Introduction: Mixed Adenoneuroendocrine Carcinomas (MANECs) are rare entities in which at least 30% of neoplastic cells are neuroendocrine in nature (WHO 2010 classification). They result either from two independent lesions that merge together or are unique lesions with different cell populations intermingled.
