Long-term Results and Life Quality in Patients with Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors at Munich University-Großhadern

#327

Introduction: PNETs substantially differ from epithelial tumors in terms of tumor biology and prognosis. In specialized centers, a broad interdiscipilary armentarium can be used to achieve optimal treatment.

Aim(s): To evaluate long-term outcome and life quality data of patients with PNETs.

Materials and methods: A retrospective analysis was performed using a prospective surgical database including operative procedures. Between 1991 and 2006, 41 patients with PNETs and 83 surgical procedures were documented. Follow-up was collected until death or 7/2009, with respect to survival, tumor status and Karnofsky-index. Survival analyses were performed using Kaplan-Meier method.
