Information for Trainers
EBNENM trainers supervise and support trainees as they develop the knowledge and clinical competencies required in NEN medicine. They help trainees document their progress in the EBNENM logbook.
This page explains the requirements for trainers and how to express interest in the role.
EBNENM trainer requirements
- Trainers must be practising specialists with personal responsibility for managing patients with NENs.
- Each training institution should have a team of specialists with the subspecialty expertise needed to supervise and train trainees.
- Related specialties must be sufficiently represented to support multidisciplinary training and patient care.
- No fixed trainee-to-trainer ratio is required, but each training institution should have at least two trainers. The training team may include non-medical healthcare professionals.
- Specialist staff should have completed the training required for their roles and received training in teaching, mentoring and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Ideally, EBNENM trainers should be active ENETS members.
