Y-NETS: Empowering the Next Generation of NET Specialists

ENETS is launching Y-NETS, a new initiative dedicated to supporting early-career clinicians and researchers in neuroendocrine tumours. Y-NETS will provide education, collaboration opportunities, and leadership development for members under 40. The first Y-NETS Committee is now being formed—learn more about the initiative and how to get involved.

About Y-NETS

Y-NETS is a new ENETS initiative designed to support and connect early-career NET specialists across Europe and beyond. It aims to provide young clinicians and researchers with opportunities to develop skills, expand knowledge, and engage actively in scientific and educational activities relevant to their daily practice and research.

Y-NETS will serve as a platform for collaboration, networking, and the development of Europe’s future NET leaders. Activities will focus on education, scientific programmes, research collaboration, and offering a young perspective on emerging priorities in NET care.

Objectives

Y-NETS will:

  • Develop and deliver educational and scientific activities for young NET specialists
  • Integrate early-career perspectives into ENETS projects and strategy
  • Promote research collaboration and career development
  • Build a global network of young NET professionals
  • Support the next generation of leaders in clinical practice and NET research

First Steps: Establishing the Y-NETS Committee

To launch the initiative, ENETS is forming the first Y-NETS Committee, a multidisciplinary group of up to 15 highly motivated ENETS members under 40.
This committee will:

  • Define the structure and priorities of Y-NETS
  • Develop educational and scientific programmes
  • Represent young perspectives within ENETS
  • Prepare the foundation for a broader Y-NETS Group (Task Force) that will open in a later phase
  • One committee member will be appointed as Y-NETS Chair (Lead) and will serve as a member of the ENETS Executive Committee.

This initial set-up phase covers the first two years of the initiative.
