Transcatheter Arterial Embolization (TAE) of NEN Metastases: Efficacy and Predictors of Response Abstract #2889
Introduction: Transcatheter-Arterial embolization (TAE) is an established regional, palliative treatment option for liver metastases in patients (pts) with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs).
Aim(s): To assess the safety/efficacy of TAE and identify predictors of treatment outcomes in NEN pts.
Materials and methods: A single-institution retrospective analysis reviewed 74 patients with histologically proven NENs. Symptoms’ scores, biomarkers [Chromogranin-A (CGA), 5-Hydroxyindolacetic acid (5-HIAA)], cross-sectional imaging, previous treatments were assessed. Symptoms’ progression was defined as 50% increase of symptoms’ score. Radiological progression was based on RECIST.
