Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Upper Urinary Tract: A Case Report Abstract #2716

Introduction: There are no dedicated guidelines for treatment of urothelial NEC given disease rarity. An aggressive approach, including neoadjuvant cisplatin-based chemotherapy + nephroureterectomy and adjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy, is recommended.
Aim(s): We present the management of a patient with urothelial NEC.
Materials and methods: A 74-years-old female presented with weight loss and abdominal pain. CT scan showed a voluminous lesion close to the IVC, the duodenum and the right kidney with hydronephrosis; the lesion was closed to the right psoas muscle, the right common and external iliac arteries. A 18-FDG-PET scan showed intense uptake in the right para-renal region, whilst the PET-Gallium-68 was negative.
