Role of Semaphorins and Their Signaling Pathway in the Progression of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (GEP-NETs)

#603

Introduction: Semaphorin family, a part of axon guidance molecules, is involved in many types of epithelial cancers. However, little is known about its potential function in GEP-NETs.

Aim(s): To determine the expression pattern of semaphorins and their molecular partners in GEP-NETs.

Materials and methods: Immunohistochemistry was performed on a Tissue Micro Array composed of 70 pancreatic and 40 intestinal tumors and validated on large sections of intestinal tumors. The expression of mRNA was analyzed by RTqPCR on endocrine tumor cell lines representative of intestinal or pancreatic NETs.
