Functional imaging with FDG-PET and somatostatin receptors scintigraphy (SRS), play a key role in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). The proliferative index, ki67, is a reliable pathological marker for grading.

Prevalence of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms with Serotonin Secretion
Introduction:
Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNENs) are rare neoplasms and represent 1-2% of all pancreatic neoplasms. These tumors can secrete a variety of hormonally active substances producing distinct clinical symptoms, or can be clinically non-functioning. Pancreatic NENs that secrete serotonin are extremely rare, but their prevalence has not been explored adequately.
