Diagnostic Utility of Ki-67 as a Mean to Predict the Uptake of Functional Imaging Modalities in Patients with Neuroendocrine Neoplasms


Introduction: Functional imaging with FDG-PET and somatostatin receptors scintigraphy (SRS), play a key role in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs). The proliferative index, ki67, is a reliable pathological marker for grading.

Aim(s): In the present study we evaluated the ability of ki67 to predict FDG- PET and SRS results.

Materials and methods: Seventy patients (33 females) with NENs underwent both SRS and PET-FDG.
